Google’s Mobilepocalypse

Destroyed cityscape

On April 21 Google announced it had now added a website’s mobile ‘friendliness’ to its ranking algorithm. The web world promptly exploded in panic despite the tea leaves having pointed to these changes since the ‘mobile friendly’ tagging of search results last year.

Searchengineland have estimated that non-responsive websites could lose up to 42% of their mobile search volume as a result of the changes.

To test if your website is mobile-friendly or not, simply enter your website URL into Google’s Mobile Friendly Test.

If you would like to discuss how the changes to Google’s search algorithms could affect your website’s search ranking, consider options for bringing your website up to date, a responsive design makeover or if you need a new responsively-designed website, please contact Damien on 0402 488 550.
